Introducing Celia McNay, EGS’s New President

Introducing Celia McNay:  Thank you to everyone in EGS who have supported me as the incoming president for the next two years.  I am humbled and excited to be able to rub shoulders with all of you.  Building on the foundation that we have, I hope to move forward with great programs in the future.  We have a good solid board with experience, but we need everyone’s ideas and help.  There will be lots of opportunities for you to volunteer for activities to share the load.  Be sure to visit our webpage, read the blog, and bring a friend to meetings.  If you have an idea for a program topic, let us know.  Be sure to pay your dues so we can continue to bring in great speakers (like Cyndi of Cyndi’s list who spoke to us last fall), host classes and workshops, and purchase books for the genealogical section of the library.  I would love to hear from you.  This is my email, so drop me a line!  Celia McNay –

For those who want to know a bit about me, I grew up in California and met my husband in 6th grade.  We ran with the same crowd, dated in high school, and married after our first year of college.  I dropped out of school to work Glen through, then had six children before getting back to my degree.  It took 14 years to get a bachelor’s degree taking one class at a time!  I graduated with a degree in Family history and Genealogy from Brigham Young University in December 2013.  We have lived in North Bend for the past 20 years.  I work part time for an orthodontics office doing their insurance billing.  With Glen and I getting close to retirement, we are both looking forward to spending more time on our personal lines of research.  Glen’s the computer wiz and I am the researcher/teacher.  Celia McNay, EGS President
